This summer Small Acts are heading to one of Cornwall’s most vibrant and fun packed community festivals to bring their cult live art game Faceback to Lafrowda Festival in St Just on 19th and 20th July.
The theme of this years Lafrowda is ‘Going Underground’ and Faceback plays with this idea by offering a radical alternative to mainstream online social networking.
If you have never experienced the joy of a smiling stranger running up to you with the line “I’ve got your face!” this is what you need to know:
Faceback is a live art game that builds over hours or days, setting in train an exciting series of face-to-face meetings between strangers.
Your Face is turned into a badge and worn by someone you haven’t met yet. Your mission is to get your Face back!
An antidote to online social networking, Faceback creates live encounters between people who wouldn’t otherwise meet.
Whilst playfully generating face-to-face communication, Faceback also acts as a catalyst for conversation around issues of social connectedness and social isolation.

Find us by the Plen-an-Gwarry on Lafrowda Eve: Friday 19th July 1.30-4.30pm and Lafrowda Day: Saturday 20th July 11am – 6pm.
