Walking (and Talking) with Creative Kernow Associates

By January 28, 2025 Events, News

In February we’re taking a group of artists, creatives and cultural practitioners on a playful and sociable walking tour of Penryn, visiting sites that have inspired Small Acts relational arts practice – from a medieval proto-university to porous streets, pubs and productive community gardens.

Part of Creative Kernow Associates series of ‘Mixer’ events, Small Acts of Walking (and Talking) is an opportunity for artists to meet and interact whilst reflecting on their varied practices through the lens of place.

Using our work as a catalyst for conversation and connection, we’ll offer participants a series of creative prompts and questions to explore with their walking companions, opening up informal discussion around each individuals practice and relationship to place.

The event will start with coffee, tea and introductions at Art Centre Penryn where Small Acts are currently developing the Church Records project in collaboration with Crow Architecture.

Saturday 8th February 10.30am to 12.30pm

Booking essential. Free for members of Creative Kernow Associates. £5 for non-members.

About Small Acts

Katie Etheridge and Simon Persighetti are artists and performance makers who create live participatory projects that explore the interrelationships between people and places. Since 2011 they have developed a unique collaborative practice operating at the intersection between architecture, community, place and performance. Engaging people all stages of the creative process, they develop multi-disciplinary methodologies designed to explore, expose and contain multiple perspectives and sometimes conflicting narratives of place.
